EquiFund II Equity Investment Fund
EquiFund II is an equity investment fund with a multiplier effect on the economy and society.
It is an innovative product for entrepreneurship, combining funding and experience from major
institutional bodies and the necessary flexibility to enable successful investments in two
important sectors of the Greek economy:
– Life Sciences and Healthcare, and
– Sustainability and Social Impact.
It is the first equity investment fund to be implemented in Greece.
Thanks to EquiFund I, Greece has seen an expansion of venture capital and private equity over the past decade, and the ecosystem is now mature and deep enough to start funding more targeted sectors of the economy with growth potential and/or enable the setting of public policy priorities. The new equity investment fund is expected to supplement existing national initiatives aimed at wider investment strategies.
Budget
The Action of Strategic Importance EquiFund II has received EUR 200 million in co-funding from the Competitiveness Programme (NSRF 2021-2027) and is expected to leverage significant additional funds via institutional and private investors.
Investment windows
Managed by the European Investment Fund (EIF) and through the selected Financial Intermediaries (FIs) – venture capital funds, EquiFund II invests in enterprises outward focus at different stages of development with specialised “investment windows”.
