As part of the Ministry of Economy & Finance’s participation in the 89th Thessaloniki International Fair, the General Secretariat for the Management of ERDF, CF and ESF Sectoral Programmes hosted a successful event on 6.9.2025. The event’s title was “From the NSRF to Resilient Societies: Creating prospects for competitiveness, social cohesion, transport, the environment and civil protection.”
The aim of the event was to present the interventions being implemented by the sectoral programmes including the Competitiveness Programme (NSRF 2021-2027) to support development, green and smart mobility, social cohesion, environmental protection and resilience, with particular emphasis on actions and projects that are being implemented in Northern Greece.
The event was attended by Mr. Nikos Papathanasis, Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Mr. Konstantinos Kyranakis, Deputy Minister of Transport, Mr. Vasilis Siadimas, General Secretary for the Management of ERDF, CF & ESF Sectoral Programmes, Ms. Vasiliki Pantelopoulou, General Secretary of the NSRF, Mr. Panagiotis Pantazatos, Deputy Head of the Department for Greece and Cyprus of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy, Ms. Cristiana Costinescu, Head of the Department for Greece and Cyprus of the EU’s Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, as well as other representatives of official bodies.
The head of the Competitiveness Programme Managing Authority, Mrs. Angeliki Fetsi, also spoke at the event, presenting the objectives of the Programme and the actions being taken to support entrepreneurship and innovation. Two beneficiaries of the Competitiveness Programme also participated. Angeliki Athanasiou, CEO of WHALE GRAPHICS S.A., and Lena Papia, CEO of Golden Star City Resort, shared their insights. These are two successful examples of projects from the processing sector (WHALE GRAPHICS S.A., a company specialised in modern digital printing, based in Thessaloniki) and tourism (Golden Star City Resort, a 4-star boutique hotel located on the blue flag beach of Perea). Finally, the new Action entitled “Extroversion of SMEs” was presented, with the participation of the President of the Greek Exporters Association (SEVE), Mr. Symeon Diamantidis, and a promotional video was also screened.
