The video presents the major results of the Competitiveness Programme (NSRF 2021-2027), the way in which it supports thousands of Greek enterprises and creates the conditions for a stronger, more productive Greek economy and the actions expected to be taken. To date, 8 popular Actions have been published as part of the Programme with a total budget of €1.64 billion: “Basic Digital Transformation of SMEs,” “Advanced Digital Transformation of SMEs,” “Digital Transformation of Cutting-Edge SMEs,” “Green Transformation of SMEs,” “Green Productive Investment of SMEs,” “Support for the Establishment and Operation of New SMEs,” “Support for the Establishment and Operation of New Tourism SMEs,” “Extroversion of SMEs” and more than 13,500 projects have been approved for financing.

The action entitled “Support for the Establishment and Operation of New Tourism SMEs” attracted great interest from investors. More specifically, 2,021 applications for financing were approved, meaning the Action’s budget was oversubscribed. Public expenditure alone exceeded €379 million.

With a view to creating better conditions for employing Greece’s skilled staff, a new flexible action is expected to bolster self-employment by encouraging graduates to set up their own business sing simplified procedures and an outcome-focused approach. Complementary measures for businesses are also planned to encourage investment in the development of their human capital, alongside other initiatives for upgrading employee skills.

The Competitiveness Programme has consistently supported the economy via the Action of Strategic Importance entitled “Research-Innovation” (€300 million) designed to link Greek research and innovation to entrepreneurship, the Digital Innovation Hubs (€23.5 million) designed to support the digital transformation of SMEs, and the Entrepreneurship Fund III (with public resources worth €670 million) designed to provide investment loans and guarantees on favourable terms, and microcredit – microloans to meet the investment needs of enterprises.

Equifund II is also expected to be activated soon; it is a €200 million fund which will support innovative businesses in sectors of rapid growth and high prospects (life sciences, health, sustainable development, investments with a social impact).
