Pre-publication of the new action entitled "Produce here" with a total public expenditure of €50 million, which will be implemented using resources from the 2021-2027 Competitiveness Programme, was announced. The Action seeks to bolster domestic production, bolster exports and improve the international competitiveness of Greek SMEs, especially in sectors where there is an imbalance between domestic supply and demand in the market. The Action is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and national resources in the context of the 2021-2027 NSRF.

The Decision approving the results of evaluation of objections and 1st amendment to the decision approving the results of evaluation of applications to finance research projects under Intervention III: "Utilisation of research results" in the context of the Action entitled "Research - Innovation 2021-2027" / "Competitiveness" Programme. According to the Decision, a total of 36 applications for financing were approved for Intervention III with a total subsidised budget of €26,675,835.13 and public expenditure of €15,407,518.84.

The Alternate Minister of Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanassis, signed an amending decision to increase the resources of the Entrepreneurship Fund III (TEPIX III) adding an additional €200 million to further bolster SMEs and to expand access to financing for SMEs. This additional financing is allocated equally to the two branches of TEPIX III: the Loans Fund and the Guarantee Fund, thereby increasing the available budget of each Fund by €100 million.

On 30.10.2025 applications began to be submitted for financing from the new Thessaly Natural Disasters Recovery Microloans Fund in the context of TEPIX III Fund. The Fund is a specialised financing tool which seeks to directly support small and micro enterprises in the Thessaly Region which were affected by Storm Daniel. With a budget of €12,000,000 the Action is financed by the Competitiveness Programme with co-financing from the European Social Fund (ESF+) and offers exceptionally favourable financing terms to allow businesses to recover.

The General Secretariat for the NSRF of the Ministry of Economy & Finance is organising a two-day workshop in the Ionian Islands Region entitled 'NSRF: Opportunities for growth and support for the local community," which will take place on the island of Kefalonia (Kefalonia and Ithaca Chamber, 131 Vergoti Ave., Argostoli) on 30-31 October 2025. Among other things, the event will also present how the Competitiveness Programme bolsters local entrepreneurship and employment.

As part of the information and communication measures for the Action entitled Extroversion of SMEs which is part of the 2021-2027 Competitiveness Programme (NSRF 2021-2027), a new info-event is being organised by EFEPAE and the Hellenic Development Agency (ELANET) in collaboration with the Panhellenic Exporters Association (PSE).

The video presents the major results of the Competitiveness Programme (NSRF 2021-2027), the way in which it supports thousands of Greek enterprises and creates the conditions for a stronger, more productive Greek economy and the actions expected to be taken. To date, 8 popular Actions have been published as part of the Programme with a total budget of €1.64 billion: "Basic Digital Transformation of SMEs," "Advanced Digital Transformation of SMEs," "Digital Transformation of Cutting-Edge SMEs," "Green Transformation of SMEs," "Green Productive Investment of SMEs," "Support for the Establishment and Operation of New SMEs," "Support for the Establishment and Operation of New Tourism SMEs," "Extroversion of SMEs" and more than 13,500 projects have been approved for financing.

The Competitiveness Programme Managing Authority is set to participate in the 89th Thessaloniki International Fair, which will run from Saturday, 06/09/2025 to Sunday, 14/09/2025. More specifically, officials from the Authority will be available at Pavilion 15 of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, under the General Secretariat for Management of Sectoral Programs of ERDF, CF and ESF, ready to talk to the public about the Competitiveness Programme within the framework of the NSRF 2021-2027.

As part of the Competitiveness Programme / 2021-2027 NSRF, interventions to develop skills related to smart specialisation, industrial transition and entrepreneurship will be financed in accordance with European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Specific Objective 1.4. Following on from the Online Event held on 22.7.2025, the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation (GSRI) invites participation in the Open Consultation being conducted to identify and highlight Innovation Skills through the Business Discovery Process in the eight sectors of the National Smart Specialisation Strategy 2021–2027.

In light of the impending activation of the Natural Disaster Recovery Microloans Fund, the Call for expressions of interest for Financial Institutions (FIs) to participate in the Natural Disaster Recovery Microloans Fund has been published. This initiative is being implemented in the context of the Holding Fund’s Entrepreneurship Fund III (TEPIX III) and relates to the Thessaly Region.

The first amendment to the Call for the "Extroversion of SMEs” Action / Competitiveness Programme was published. New NACE codes have been added to Annex II for activities eligible under the Action. The amendment also includes changes to points in the Call relating to coverage of private participation, in the section on general remarks about expenditure, in the templates for solemn declarations, etc.

The Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis, presented official data on the progress in implementing all financing tools in his portfolio for the benefit of society and the economy. The presentation took place during a press conference as part of regular quarterly reporting which has taken place since he assumed the post.

The Ministry of Economy & Finance announced the launch of the “Extroversion of SMEs” Action which seeks to bolster and support the export orientation of Greece's SMEs and relates to support for investment plans which seek to utilise and develop modern technologies and to improve the products manufactured, services provided and activities in general. The purpose of this Action is to improve the competitiveness and outward-looking focus of businesses, to integrate them into international value chains and to bolster the international presence of their products via their participation in trade fairs organised outside the territory of Greece in the European Union and third countries.

The decision approving the results of evaluation of intervention III 'Use of research results' for the “Research-Innovation” Action, which is part of the Competitiveness Programme 2021-2027 was published. It examined one hundred and thirteen (113) applications using the first-in-first-out principle, based on the date and time of final online submission to iSAMIS and the available resources. The total budget requested is €87,779,453.63 and the total public expenditure requested is €49,307,968.79.

One thousand five hundred and seventy three (1,573) applications for financing, with a total public expenditure of €295,757,680, were approved by the Decision of the Alternate Minister of Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis, accepting the relevant results following meetings of the ten Evaluation Committees for the action "Support for the Establishment and Operation of New Tourism SMEs" in the Less Developed Regions of: North Aegean, Eastern Macedonia – Thrace, Central Macedonia, Epirus, Thessaly, Western Greece, Crete, Western Macedonia, Ionian Islands, Central Greece, Peloponnese. A total of 5,165 applications with a requested budget of €1,753,746,326.18 and total requested public expenditure of €959,089,150.77 were examined.

The first decision approving the evaluation results for the action entitled Support for the Establishment and Operation of New SMEs has been published. It relates to applications submitted in the Transition Regions (Attica and the Southern Aegean). According to the Decision, of the 1,501 applications submitted in the Transition Regions, with a requested subsidised budget of €489,422,274.29 and requested public expenditure of €276,277,002.99, 448 applications for financing, with a total subsidised budget of €147,502,262.10 and public expenditure of €83,782,221.17 were approved.

The new Action entitled “Bilateral Scientific and Technological Cooperation between Greece and Turkey” has been published. The Action aims to bolster the scientific and technological collaboration between Greece and Turkey and address the needs of enterprises and other bodies active in the research and innovation ecosystem, covering the widest possible spectrum of potential Beneficiaries. The collaboration will generate a dynamic that will facilitate the establishment of researcher networks and strengthen existing partnerships. It is projected to be able to widen access to other sources of funding for international scientific and research programmes.

The Competitiveness Programme (2014-2020 NSRF) provided practical support to Greece's museums, bolstering their role as living repositories of culture, knowledge and lived experience. Thanks to the Competitiveness Programme's co-financed actions, extensive digital upgrades were made to museum infrastructure which included the adoption of modern technologies to improve the digital experience of visitors and to digitally record collections. At the same time, accessibility was significantly improved by implementing solutions that ensure equal opportunities for people with disabilities. In addition, emphasis was placed on showcasing tourism sites via targeted promotional programmes and partnerships to increase visitor numbers and promote cultural heritage at international level.

The sixth (6th) amendment to the Invitation for the Action “Advanced Digital Transformation for SMEs” of the 'Competitiveness' Programme NSRF 2021-2027 has been announced; according to the amendment, the completion timeframe of the physical and financial scope of the object is set at fifteen (15) months from the date of issue of the Decision Approving Evaluation Results. The amendment also made changes to Section 9.4 of the Invitation, “APPEAL PROCESS”.

The first (1st) Decision Approving Evaluation Results in the context of the ‘Strengthening the Establishment and Operation of New SMEs’ Action has been published, which concerns applications submitted to the Transition Regions (Attica and South Aegean). According to the Decision, of the 1072 applications submitted to the Transition Regions, with a requested grant budget of €171,497,647.60 and a requested public expenditure of €86,901,426.12, four hundred ninety-seven (497) applications for funding have been approved, with a total funded budget of €82,545,123.72 and public expenditure in the amount of €41,851,263.97.
