This call is addressed to the potential beneficiaries: a) COGNITIVE INNOVATIONS PRIVATE COMPANY and b) sunlight group energy storage systems industrial and commercial SOCIETE ANONYME for the submission of project proposals (operations) to be included in and funded under the ‘Competitiveness’ Programme of the ‘ERDF’ Fund, the Actions: 1-1.1-04- Development of innovations in the field of Microelectronics.

The Action concerns the funding of Greek participations (direct partners) for Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI) in the sector of microelectronics and communication technology (IPCEI on Microelectronics and Communication Technology-IPCEI ME/CT), the state aid of which was approved by European Commission Decision C(2023) 3817 final/8/6/23 (SA.101210) (2023/N) – Greece for €8.1 billion of public support by fourteen Member States, which is expected to unlock additional €13.7 billion in private investments. The aim is to support research, innovation and the first industrial deployment of microelectronics and communication technologies across the value chain. The project was jointly prepared and notified by fourteen Member States and includes 68 projects by 56 companies. These direct participants will closely cooperate through more than 180 envisaged cross-border collaborations.

The project directly contributes to achieving several EU objectives of a greener, digital, more secure, resilient and sovereign economy. Public support is necessary to provide incentives to companies to carry out the investment which, due to high innovation, also involves significant technological and financial risks.
